Summary:
This position is responsible for generating program underwriting, print advertisements, pledge event sponsorships and special event revenues as directed by the Director of Corporate Support. The employee is responsible for communicating and behaving in a way that supports diversity and equality among co-workers and colleagues.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meet renewal and new business revenue goals in all of the above areas.
- Service existing clients and cultivate new businesses through in-person presentations, telemarketing and target mailings
- Service assigned clients by negotiating contract terms and organizing all elements of account relationships associated with timely billing, account reporting, Pro-Track affidavits
- Facilitate grantors’ spots by coordinating location shoots, in-house editing process, script writing, and completing necessary paperwork. Review and approve pre-produced credits
- Present and enforce consistent WGBY/PBS standards for underwriting credits
- Proof daily broadcast logs
- Communicate and behave in a way that is free from discrimination, intolerance or harassment when interacting with co-workers, colleagues and clients.
- Stay informed on station activities and cooperate with all departments.
- Participate in station Membership Drives, Auctions, Special Events and other community events and/or activities assigned.
- Other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Support.
Qualifications:
- Sales or fundraising background with 2-3 years demonstrated successful results required
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required
- Valid driver’s license and access to transportation required
- Totally familiar with station’s programming schedule
- Strong working habits and be able to function in a multi-task environment
- Self-starter and be able to work independently or as a team player dependent upon the project
- Computer literate
- Able to pay attention to details
- Knowledge of and interest in public television important
