The WGBY Love for Learning PBS Kids Fan Fair brings your favorite characters to life.

GET FURRY HUGS

Attending children will enjoy the opportunity to meet (and hug!) some of their favorite characters. Past characters have included:

  • Curious George
  • Elmo
  • Buddy from Dinosaur Train
  • Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat
  • Michelangelo of the The Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles

PLUS! Participate in a Costume Parade by wearing a PBS Kids-inspired costume.

MEET AUTHORS & ILLUSTRATORS

Get to know the people behind some of your favorite children’s books. Plus, the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art hosts book sales and signings. Local children’s authors and illustrators in attendance have included:

  • Angela Diterlizzi (Some Pets, Seeking a Bunny, Some Bugs)
  • Tony Diterlizzi (The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Adventures of Luke Skywalker).
  • Jarret Krosoczka (Jedi Academy: A New Class, Punk Farm, Lunch Lady & The Cyborg)
  • Jeff Mack (Good News, Bad News, Hush Little Polar Bear, Duck in the Fridge)
  • Heidi Stemple (Not All Princesses Dress in Pink, You Nest Here with Me, Pretty Princess Pig)
  • David A. White (LEGO Star Wars: Face Off, Hot Wheels readers)

BE CREATIVE

Activity stations will be set up throughout the venue. Each station will be themed to a PBS Kids show or children’s book author/illustrator. Each station will be hosted by a community or cultural partner.
