About the Show

Behind the ScenesOn The Menu is a weekly cooking show featuring restaurants and chefs from Western New England. In each episode, Host Betty Rosbottom welcomes a chef to the WGBY studio kitchen where they prepare three recipes together.

Chefs featured on On the Menu serve local ingredients in their restaurants. Each of the recipes prepared contain produce, dairy and protein (beef, pork, chicken, etc.) that has been raised and harvested in our region.

As Betty peppers the guests with questions about preparation, local sources and cooking time, chefs share their expertise, and provide advice about how to best access and prepare local foods.

Behind the scenesEach 30-minute program also features two segments: On the Road with Simon, and Michael’s Wine Picks. Simon Stevenson, who hosts On the Road with Simon, interviews area farmers to learn about their harvests and what’s available locally for the home cook. Michael’s Wine Picks provides recommendations for wine (or beer) to compliment the courses presented on the show. It is hosted by Michael Quinlan of Table & Vine.
