Barkhamsted Reservoir
Northern CTThe Barkhamsted Reservoir covers what was once a village known as Barkhamsted Hollow. Private property, small farms and many homes were flooded to create this reservoir. The reservoir itself is about 8 miles long and extends from central Barkhamsted, north into the town of Hartland, almost to Massachusetts. It is the primary water supply for the metropolitan Hartford area, which is located about 25 miles away. It’s vast size and recreational opportunities make for a great day out as well as painting.
