Mystery Location
Each week I encourage you to "go out into your neighborhood and see what you can find," and this week I do just that (I take my own advice). I'm just a short distance from my home but I can't tell you exactly where. What I can tell you is this week's subject makes for a great painting. Today’s subject is only a mile from my home and is privately owned. Before I began to explore the area and identify a subject to paint, I made sure I had permission from the owner to be there and I'm glad I did. We have become very good friends since our first encounter and this location has become one of my personnel favorites. I've painted it many times and over the course of many seasonal changes It's got a little bit of everything I look for when searching for a subject. Great architectural elements, trees that help with both the framing and depth factors, and lots of rushing water.
