Naumkeag is a quintessential country estate that reflects the shingled style homes of America's Gilded Age. Naumkeag is also famous for its terraced gardens and outdoor rooms. This week's feature, the Blue Steps of Naumkeag were created in 1939 and are almost hard to describe. They a series of deep blue fountain pools flanked by four flights of steps climbing up a gentle hillside and overhung by birch trees, truly an amazing sight and quiet a subject to paint!
