Steaming Tender, part 1
28 Depot Street, Palmer, MAIn this week’s episode, Susan stays close to home and captures the beauty of “years gone by” as she paints a wonderfully restored train station now known as The Steaming Tender Drive-In Restaurant. Here railroad enthusiasts can still watch passing trains roll by, take photos of the station itself and view the many antiquities that furnish this impressive atmosphere. Young and old alike will also appreciate the vintage 1915 Porter Steam engine and tender on the grounds. Because of the size and scope of this subject, Susan thought she would respond viewer emails requesting drawing tips, so in part #1, she shares her drawing "tips and techniques" and focusing on the beginning of the painting. Next week, Susan works on the details and finishing touches, so whether you’re a novice watercolorist or want to know how to get started on a subject, the next two weeks will show you how. |
