The Log Cabin’s Chef Mick Corduff is planning a full night of tasty eats for Masterpiece Ball-goers. So bring your appetite (but don't worry about the extra calories — you'll burn those off on the dance floor).

Below is a preview of the working menu.


Upon arrival, you will get yourself a drink, mingle with friends, and enjoy noshing on string bean shooters, artichoke dip with toasted pitas, an English cheese board, vegetables and dip, and gourmet crackers. The reception will close with a champagne toast.

All the while, servers will offer:

  • Prawn Scampi
  • Tiny Bowtie Pasta with Garlic Butter and Micro Basil
  • Dr. Watson’s Minted Lamb Meatball 
  • Wallander’s Lox & Black Bread 
  • Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp 
  • Lobster Cakes with Tarragon Sauce 
  • Spicy Chicken Salad in Filo Cups 
  • Foyle’s Sundried Trout with Basil 
  • DCI Banks Yorkshire Pudding with Ricotta Honey 
  • Gorgonzola Croquettes 
  • Sherlock’s Edamame with Truffle Oil & Seasalt 
  • Miss Marple’s English Tea Sandwiches 


In the dining room, guests will be welcomed with warm croissants and crusty rolls along with red and white wines from Humboldt Imports.

The appetizer round will feature:

  • Morse’s Lancaster Pie 355
  • Inspector Lewis’s Steak & Kidney Turnover with English Pea Purée, Pan Drippings, and Gravy
  • Balsamic Pickled Onion

Salads will be served next:

  • Super Kale Salad 
  • Fig Crostini

The meat entrées will be:

  • Poirot’s Chateaubriand with Merlot Wine Glaze 
  • Grilled Salmon with Cajun Burre Blanc 
  • Oven Roasted Shitake & Artichoke Roasted Chicken 

For vegetarians, the option will be made to order:

  • Miss Marple’s Grilled Vegetable Napoleon — With portabella mushrooms, peppers, red onion, zucchini, and summer squash tossed in olive oil, garlic, and herbs and then grilled and layered with a roasted red pepper sauce.

The vegetables will be:

  • Sweet Potato Succotash 
  • Whipped Cauliflower Mash with Parsley Butter
