Fran wants her granddaughter Jill to take over her caramaran business. Jill declines and Fran takes her beloved boat out on a charter with a writer, Edward, who's carrying a mysterious urn.

Fran's estranged daughter, Rosemary, and Fran's great granddaughter, Anna, need Fran's help. Later, Fran meets Anna's boyfriend, Virgil, at one of Fran's favorite places in the world, Beachy Head.
