Brown Sugar Rum Sauce

  • 1 pound light brown sugar or golden brown sugar (not dark)
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 oz rum


Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and place over a medium heat. Whisk periodically until mixture 'blooms'. Whisk constantly for three minutes, taking care not to allow mixture to overflow the saucepan. Remove from heat and cool.
