Red Cabbage

  • 1 head red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 apple, peeled and cored
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch caraway seed or juniper berry
  • 1 small onion, diced


In a sauté pan, heat the oil and cook the shredded red cabbage and diced onion until just tender. Pour over the vinegar and sprinkle on the sugar. Stir gently to combine.

Add the peeled, cored and chopped apple and the pinch of either caraway seed or juniper berry. Mix loosely and serve.
