Connecting Point Television Series Internship

WGBY’s local, high-energy, fast-paced news magazine series Connecting Point seeks motivated individuals to help inform, educate and enlighten our million plus television households on both the news of the day and the news in historical context through in-depth, high quality television, radio, and digital journalism, reflecting the diverse voices in the community. 

Internships run year-long


Duties include but are not limited to working with the series producers, reporters and production staff on research and planning of content, managing information for the series website, assisting in studio tapings as studio camera operators, electronic graphics operators, assist with electronic field productions and possible set construction.  Interns must have good availability during most weekdays, have reliable transportation and be able to commit to 15–20 hours per week.

The intern position is non-paid. This hands-on internship is structured to allow the motivated and committed individual to get the most that this program offers and a true look at public media and the art of storytelling.   A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.  A background in television or journalism is helpful but not necessary.
