Pete meets them at Urban Roots Farm, an organization that uses food and farming to transform the lives of young people, where they pick vegetables and get honey right from the combs. Then they get down to work preparing the evening's feast which features goat carnitas with all the fixins; Brazos Valley cheesy grits; honey glazed carrots; chicken-fried goat; and beet hummus with farm vegetables.

Pete takes on blue crab country on this episode of Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking when he joins chefs Duff Goldman and Bryan Voltaggio in Baltimore. After gathering crabs from JM Clayton Seafood Company, the oldest crab-picking house in the U.S., the group visits the small specialty store of Hex Ferments to purchase the best sauerkraut in the area. Pete starts the feast with Thai-style deviled eggs with crab mayo and kraut, while Brian serves a true Maryland blue crab feast and the Ace of Cakes aces it with the classic Smith Island Cake for dessert.

On this episode of Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking, Pete Evans goes on a road trip across Lake Pontchartrain for a farm-fresh-feast Louisiana style and discovers that there is more to New Orleans than Mardi Gras. Who better to take us there than radio host/story teller Poppy Tooker and acclaimed New Orleans chef Susan Spicer. On their way they stop by local purveyors to pick up the ingredients for the night's big feast. First stop on the road trip, Farmhouse Dairy Co. where Pete picks up fresh ricotta made from goat's milk.
