The film is centered around the personal stories of Dora Maria Tellez, the young medical student who became a major Sandinista General, and four of her revolutionary allies. Together, these Nicaraguan women overcame traditional gender barriers and subverted stereotypes to lead rebel troops in 1979's Sandinista Revolution, and then reshaped their country with landmark social reforms. In MY BOLIVIA he travels to the land of his parents to discovery his own family's story, seeing for the first time the places his parents told him about - and learning the secrets they never discussed. Tejada-FLores knew his grandfather was Bolivia's president in the 1930's, but never heard of his role in Latin America's bloodiest war. The family owned land and slaves, until another relative, he discovers, helped lead the revolution that stripped them of land and power.

The 2008 Sichuan earthquake, China's deadliest disaster in three decades, killed 90,000 people, including more than 5,000 children. Losing a child is an immeasurable tragedy for parents anywhere, but in China the effect is compounded by the one-child policy. This means that if you lose your child, you're often losing your one and only child - and with it the totality of your life's emotional investment. In response to the earthquake, China's government made an exception for those who lost their only child to conceive another.

As leader of the world's only LGBT political party, Bemz Benedito dreams of being the first transgender woman in the Philippine Congress. But in a predominantly Catholic nation, rallying for LGBT representation in the halls of Congress is not an easy feat. Bemz and her eclectic team of queer political warriors must rethink traditional campaign strategies to amass support from unlikely places.

Inuit hunter Hivshu, a.k.a. Robert E. Peary II, traces the story of his great grandfather the famous Arctic explorer, and the mystery of his Eskimo ancestors who Peary brought back to New York as part of an exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in 1897. Using archival footage, photos and audio recordings the film chronicles Peary's exploration of the Arctic and his still controversial 1909 claim to be the first man to reach the North Pole.
