The New England Public Media Wine & Food Lover’s Tasting features over 200 wine, craft beer, and specialty foods, in our new location at MGM Springfield. Provisions of Northampton has coordinated an excting line-up of wines and beers that will be served by knowledgeable professionals. You will have the chance to meet this year's guest host, Amy Traverso, senior food editor at Yankee magazine and co-host of Weekends with Yankee which airs on WGBY Sundays mornings at 11. Manny Gonzales, Fine Wine Specialist at Horizon Beverage, will lead seminars on champagne, sake, and port wines. And you'll meet well-known local "foodies" including Chef Chris Prospero of Metor Bis, restaurateurs Claudio Guerre and Nadim Kashouh, Chef Warren Leigh from the Holyoke Community College MGM Culinary Arts Institute and many others (see below).

For over 30 years, supporters of public television and PBS member station WGBY have put their palates to work to help raise funds for the programs they trust and love. But the good feeling you get from participating in this charity event isn't the only benefit.

  • Local Cheese from the Cabot Creamery Cooperative in Montpelier, VT
  • Chandlers MGM Springfield presents Shishito Pepper Au Poivre Flank Steak with Pickled Mushroom and Grilled Scallion
  • CISA offers a spread of local foods produced throughout the region
  • Costa MGM Springfield's Chef Elliot Drew serves Saffron Rigatoni with Braised Ox Tail    
  • Springfield's Elegant Affairs dish up their signature New England Bread Pudding
  • Chef Robert Conlin will be serving at The Farm Table at Kringle Candle’s station.
  • Nosh Restaurant & Café based in Springfield will offer their Vegetarian Lentil and Chickpea Cake served in a Carrot Ginger Sauce.
  • The Tap House at Shaker Mill will be coming from West Stockbridge to serve Roasted Meatball with Smoked Tomato served with Farmer-ground Blue Cheese Polenta.
  • Alex and Cristina Gomez will showcase Springfield’s Frontera Grill’s contemporary Mexican cuisine.
  • Ludlow’s Harmony Springs will offer refreshment with their locally produced old-fashioned soda pop.
  • Chef Andrew Brow will s HighBrow Wood Fired Kitchen + Bar’s Pork Shoulder Confit served over Creamy Polenta with Corn Masque Choux.
  • Chef Warren Leigh from the Holyoke Community College MGM Culinary Arts Institute will prepare Chicken Sausage with Duck Demi-Glace, Duck Confit and Caramelized Root Vegetables.
  • Holyoke Hummus’ John Grossman and Dawn Cordeiro will ladle up a Housemade Soup served with hummus and chips.
  • Sheila Coon will sweeten things up with Cookies from her Springfield bakery—Hot Oven Cookies.
  • Jay Candelario of Jay’s Bed and Breakfast in Holyoke will serve Pulled Chicken Nachos with Salsa and Chips.
  • Meet Chef Chris Prospero of the elegant Metro Bis located in Simsbury CT.
  • Hadley’s Mill Valley Milk Company will serve their Aged Raw Milk Cheddar Cheese
  • Grab a cup of java from Monsoon Roastery. Tim Monson will be brewing their locally-roasted Fresh Pour-Over Coffee.
  • Meet Nadim Kashouh and taste Nadim’s Hummachos from his popular Springfield restaurant.
  • Terri Skinner presents tastes from Springfield’s Nosh Café and Restaurant.
  • Jeff and Maria Wingate will serve treats from their Wilbraham-based Pops Biscotti and Chocolates.
  • Red Fire Farm will present locally grown and produced items from their Granby, MA CSA farm.
  • Jeremy Barker Plotkin will serve Sausage made from pasture-raised pork and grass-fed beef from Amherst’s Simple Gifts Farm.
  • Meet Spoleto Restaurant owner Claudio Guerre and enjoy signature tastes from the Northampton-based culinary mainstay.
  • Vincent and Don Calvanese will prepare Seafood Alfredo from West Springfield’s Storrowton Tavern.
  • Enjoy “Seoul street food” from Springfield’s Sun Kim Bop. Sun Kim will serve a variety of Kimchi Rice dishes.
  • Taste Granola from Longmeadow’s Your Choice Brands and learn about their non-profit business model that supports your favorite charity.

Get ahead of the crowd with the Early Admission VIP Experience ticket. Take advantage of exclusive early access to The Wine and Chef stations from 5:00–6:00 p.m.  Enjoy an Oyster Raw Bar hosted by the Massachusetts Aquaculture Association, featuring Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms and Scott Shucks, curator of fine oysters. Keynote Speaker Manny Gonzales, Fine Wine Specialist at Horizon Beverage, will present a talk about pairing sparkling wine with oysters. Meet Weekends with Yankee co-host Amy Traverso and sample her signature bay scallop crudo.  

General Admission guests are welcome at 6:00 p.m.

WHAT'S THE SATURDAY DINNER ALL ABOUT?

The Friday tasting event marks the largest wine, beer, and food tasting in western New England. But the Saturday event is equally special, though for different reasons.

The 2020 Wine & Food Lovers’ Dinner features a seven-course meal of mouth-watering food and carefully and expertly paired wines. Diners learned about each of these pairings, and discover the ways wine and food marry on the palate.  Dinner Tickets & Details »
